Historian PagesNiagara Falls HOG HistorySince our first meeting on the evening of May 12th, 1986 to the present day, our H.O.G. chapter has continued to grow in a membership well over 300 strong, as well as in activities. We hosted the first New York State H.O.G. Rally in July 1988 and co-hosted 1998 rally in Batavia NY. In 2008 the 20th anniversary, of the New York State Rally returned home to Niagara Falls, NY and was proudly hosted by our local chapter. Over the years, the chapter has sponsored various charitable events which have benefited the following: Muscular Dystrophy Association, Women and Children Hospital of Buffalo, Trooper Toys for Tots, Roswell Park cancer Institute, Glory to the Kids, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Wyndham Lawn Home for Children, Mercy Flight and numerous other individual charitable organizations. Today our chapter has adopted 4 main charities. Every Christmas since 1987, the Niagara Falls NY Chapter has provided gifts for the Wyndham Lawn Home for Children. Over the years, we have held rides to visit the kids at the home in Lockport, NY. The Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center, where we sponsor a horse name “Sonny” which is use to help challenged children learn to ride. We support Canine Helpers, who train dogs to help physically challenged individuals with everyday tasks. With our help Community Mission of Niagara County provides assistance to people in need. These worthwhile organizations really need and appreciate the Help we give them. During the riding season our chapter manages to stay busy by sponsoring some of Western New York’s finest motorcycling events. They include our annual Bike Blessing and Polar Bear Run in April, to which we have bragging rights, with attendance at well over 2000 motorcycles. Our Benefit Run is the first weekend in August, and the second Wednesday of each month, our chapter has a H.O.G. “meet and greet” night at the dealership. We also stay busy right on through the end of the riding season. We attend our chapter special events, gatherings, and rides which include brunch, or dinner, rides. Our annual anniversary party, chapter family picnic and the end of season Christmas Party round out our calendar. The Niagara Falls H.O.G. chapter has always offered the enthusiast a great chance to ride with a group of riders who share a love of motorcycling. Choosing the right chapter can be a catalyst that spurs a lifelong passion of motorcycling, as well as many lasting friendships. So thank you for choosing the Niagara Falls Chapter!
